I use a Weather Underground widget on my web page(s) (e.g. http://www.jerbils.info ) that shows my webcam surround by weather oriented data. It works under all browsers.
First, the strange thing is that, apart from the fact that I can't remember where I got it from, I can't find it on WU's site.
Second, I seem to remember having a problem with it, under IE, and even posting on a forum somewhere to try and get it resolved but I can't find any info on that either.
I don't use it on my weather (sub-)site as I have a dedicated webcam page ( http://www.jerbils.info/saratoga/wxwebcam.php). However, I decided to use the same idea there for other locations, in order to pad the page out a bit.
I copied the code that I use for my own widget and modified it to enable a (three) weather station's data to be applied to a webcam image from the same area.
Under Chrome and Safari it works fine (or at least appears to).
Under Waterfox/Firefox it shows the first two fine but only the weather data and no webcam image for the third.
Under Internet Explorer it shows very little of the three widgets at all, with Loading... at the top of each of them.
It is an object/param/embed setup with an application/x-shockwave-flash object and, as I said, it works fine as a single item on my main site home page under all browsers.
The only thing I can think of is that it has something to do with having multiple displays on the same page.
Any ideas?
Again, it is at http://www.jerbils.info/saratoga/wxwebcam.php

Going to that link directly for the missing third webcam shows NaN regardless of the browser used. I would say the link is not right.

Re: Wunderground website widget
You have it as IKRONOBE2:
http://www.wunderground.com/swf/pws_min ... ic&lang=EN
It should be IKRONOBE3 and the % crap needs to go:
http://www.wunderground.com/swf/pws_min ... ic&lang=EN

Re: Wunderground website widget
No, sorry, you didn't read/understand the question.
I'll give you that (currently) IKRONOBE3 may have better data than IKRONOBE2 (mine goes NaN occasionally too and the first of the three is showing NaN currently) but the pertinent points are...
And, lol, the % crap is not crap.
WU pointed me at the page where I got the code from originally...
http://www.wunderground.com/weatherstat ... sh&lang=EN
....oh! and, incidentally, noted "The stickers are fairly old code, so it's likely that there are some compatibility issues. We plan to update the stickers at a later date", which may or may not explain the problem.

Of course, it may look different on your system but my laptop and desktop systems both show as above.Under Chrome and Safari it works fine (or at least appears to).
Under Waterfox/Firefox it shows the first two fine but only the weather data and no webcam image for the third.

Re: Wunderground website widget
Your question was, "Any ideas?", lol.
The % crap is crap. I never use it anymore. I cannot remember the last time I needed to.
The following modifications of your original webcam code work for all the browsers you listed:
So by getting rid of the % crap, it was much easier for me to see what the problems were: your embed link was wrong and you added line breaks in the links. Also, changing the size of the webcams from 290x300 to 269x260 kills the wind speed on the blue wind compasses.

Re: Wunderground website widget
Wow, thanks for that...
...so Chrome and Safari say "look Jeremy we know you're an idiot so we're going to fix all these mistakes you have made"?
edited to add... yes, that seems to work fine on all browsers now (just had to change height/width back to what they were).
and....to summarise....
apart from a minor problem with a url where I had a portion of it as "/gm/" as opposed to "/m/", which Chrome and Safari had no problems with and is why Firefox/Waterfox didn't show (just) the webcam image on the third display...
...it appears that, having now returned to and consolidated my original code into a single line for each of <param and <embed, instead of splitting them across multiple lines for ease of reading, Internet Explorer can now handle it. Lol, why it couldn't before is beyond belief.
...and, amazingly, I have managed to keep all the crap %'s

Re: Wunderground website widget
OK, so this has been working fine...
http://www.jerbils.info/saratoga/wxwebcamold.php
with three static webcam displays but I wanted to do more and jazz it up a bit and to play around with a carousel technique, so I used a canned piece of code caroufredsel, stripped out the code that wasn't required, made some mods to the scroll bar beneath it and ended up with...
http://www.jerbils.info/saratoga/wxwebcam.php
that looks a whole lot nicer (well, I think so) and has the benefit ? of providing access to several other webcam/weather locations (well, lol, I could have had just links but that was too easy although perhaps I should have used their "robot" to generate the code).
Now the problem is that this works great, apparently, but you can't link to the webcam or weather, from the image, in Chrome. The hand appears but it won't link. It works fine in IE, Opera, Firefox and Safari (well, the linking does but there are other minor issues with a couple of the browsers).
The only real difference between the old and the new, apart from the carousel code itself, is that the object/param/embeds are contained within <li>'s now, as opposed to <td>'s. Any ideas what would inhibit the linking in Chrome?
