What Type of WebHost - Linux or MS

Hi, I'm thinking of setting up a website using a hosted service. The service provider that I am considering offers either Linux or Microsoft based web serving. Can someone tell me what the best option would be.

I'm a newbie to this and will be keeping things fairly simple. I was intending to use the Weather by You Sunny Weather template.

Many thanks.

Unless for some reason you are intending to use ASP, MS SQL Server, or any other Microsoft technologies, Linux hosting will be the better choice.

I strongly second Steve's recommendation for Linux hosting - the LAMP (Linux, Apache, mySQL, PHP) platform is much less quirky than the Microsoft Windows, IIS, PHP platform and you will have better results with the commonly available PHP scripts using Linux hosting.

Thanks for your replies. I will go Linux. I'll let you know how I get on and perhaps we can add the supplier to the list.
