Help needed really!!! please

Post by kapo »

Now I`m in a little bit trouble..... Yesterday I managed to change date in my computer as: 09/04/2013 But CUtags.php didn`t approve it. CUtags stopped to update... And today, after many tries to "correct" this I managed to distroy my CUtags.php...... And I can`t get new CUtags.php to work at all... Have I to install whole new Saratoga template in my web page???? Or is there some advice / help to me in this situation... Whole my works with Saratoga is then gone.... Help?????

You can use a new CUtags.txt template (attached) and do the setup as shown at http://saratoga-weather.org/wxtemplates ... umulus.php

If your site was working before, then the only thing needed is a fresh copy of the CUtags.txt template file to have it working again.

Best regards,
Ken

Thank You very much for Your answer...
But the prob. didn`t correct with those advices...
Cumulus FTP makes only empty CUtags.php file in my public_html directory. And it makes also empty file in C/Cumulus/web directory named CUtags TXTTMP file.
And yes, my Saratoga worked fine before that change of date format from 10.04.2013 to 10/04/2013
After that CUtags stopped updating and now we are in here???

You unzipped the CUtags.zip and saved the CUtags.txt into the Cumulus c:\cumulus\web directory ?

Then used Image as a setup?

If c:\cumulus\web\CUtags.txttmp is empty, while c:\cumulus\web\CUtags.txt is not, then the problem is with Cumulus not processing the file correctly.

Your site will return to function when http://www.kapo511.net/CUtags.php?sce=dump shows data

Yes I did exactly how You teached... And c/cumulus /CUtags.txt has data, but c/cumulus/CUtags.TXTTMP and /public_html/CUtags.php are emty....
What should I do next?
I don't want to go back that old date form, because almoust all Cumulus 3. Part programs works only with that date limiter... And I tried to go back in that past date form, the result was same with that also...
I supposed that Saratoga dosen't bother about how the current date is printed? So I could not think that Saratoga dosen't work?
Propably and most likely it is me again that has done something wrong.
I've done up till now with the guidance You gave me once: Do one change in time and see what it gives with.... But now I couldn't do anything.... CUtags.php stopped to update.
Now I'm totally lost... It's too big work begin everything from the begining... As always, it was so close, but still too far that it could be ready template and just like I have planned to that be...

With all best regards:

Do you really have CUtags.TXTTMP or CUtags.txttmp?

Have you checked the time stamps on the uploaded files to ensure they are actually getting there?
You may need to refresh FTP program to check you are seeing the latest timestamp.
You may benefit from deleting the empty files from the host to confirm the files are actually being replaced on the server.

Hi
They are just now both generated 11/04/2013 07:46 in our time. I write this in time 07:46. Both files have 0 bytes. In my web server that file is CUtags.php and in C:/Cumulus/web there is CUtags.txttmp named file. Now those timestamps are 7:59.

And my timestamp is: :bash:  :bash:  :bash:

You said "c/cumulus /CUtags.txt has data", but it should have <#webtags> NOT actual data ?

You also said " but c/cumulus/CUtags.TXTTMP ... empty".

This means CUtags.txt is NOT being processed !

1/ Make sure that the "Process" box has been checked -

2/ If that is the case, then for some reason your CUtags.txt does NOT contain any <#webtags> and cannot be processed.

@ beteljuice - that is unlikely as kapo has copied in the standard CUtags.txt file as advised by Ken.
(your post arrived while I was writing mine!)
@kapo - Just to confirm beteljuice's advice;
is the 'data' in this format;
AllocatedMemory|<#AllocatedMemory>:|:
or this
AllocatedMemory|74.92 MB:|:
( I have sorted my list so your first entry will be for a different tag ).
If it is the first format the CUtags.txt file should be OK.
If the second, it may have been overwritten it while configuring the destination in the 'Internet settings' / 'files' setup screen in Cumulus. If the second, copy again the CUtags.txt file from Ken's CUtags.zip file.

Ken's screenshot shows the remote filename as CUtags.php but it does need the proper path to your server - public_html/CUtags.php for you?

Yep, there is that kind of data:<#webtags> in C/Cumulus/web/CUtags.txt. Itook my "old" Cumulus in use, and it`s working, I hope so, and it seems too. I tried exactly, how Ken advised, but I could not get that "new" version of Cumulus to run anymore. I don`t understand (which is not very much I think) why it happened so. Now I have missed month :mars data, but I believe, I find that data too, from that my "new" version of Cumulus. We sees, but something data is going to my web page and that is the main thing, because I pay for my webhotel, so there must be some kind of traffic then too....

With all my best regards, from sunny Finland:

Hi Ken !

My Cumulus and Saratoga template are working again! And now, in order to avoid further damage, I dare to ask, in which directory I might to add new webtags, those which are for example: # RecentOutsideTemp d=1 , etc? I have a little table in my webpage, and those so called beta tags gone away with that past CUtags.php. Which place is safest to add? CUtags.php, CUtags.txt or CUtags.txttmp. And I should add them in my PC with notepad++. Is it better to "close" Cumulus FTP for that time, when I add those? I became a little timid for yesterday... so I need some advice from You.. Or somebody else, if You could be so kind....

The easiest way to add new tags is to edit the tags.txt file on your website which contains entries like

Code: Select all

wvar	<#AllocatedMemory>	Amount of memory allocated to Cumulus, e.g. "18.76 MB"
wvar	<#DiskSize>	Size of disk on which Cumulus is running, e.g. "931.51 GB"
The three fields are delimited by a tab character with the first field being 'wvar' or 'beta' for 'production' or 'beta' tags.
The second field is the webtag for Cumulus
The third field is the comment describing the tag.

Make your changes to the local copy of tags.txt, and upload to your website.
Then run http://www.kapo511.net/gen-CUtags.php?b ... mments=yes and save the output as CUtags.txt (the template file for Cumulus) in your c:\cumulus\web directory.

Then you can refer to the new data as $WX['name-of-tag'] in your pages.

Best regards,
Ken
