Extra data?

Hi Steve,

I have a bit of a puzzler

I have just been using my monthly log files to do some averages and stuff, and have loaded the March one into my spreadsheet template and noticed an extra column of figures after the current gust ones at the end. Upon investigation ;) the extra column appears to be a repeat of the current temperature column that appears as the third set of data from the left. I have traced its origins to the 9th of March at 08:30 when for some reason Cumulus has logged my data twice ie; I have an entry for 08:20, 08:25, 08:30, 08:30, 08:35, 08:40 etc etc. On the second entry for 08:30 the extra column has appeared and I now see that Cumulus has continued to add this column ever since. The two entries for 08:30 are not identical as the wind bearing and the recent gust data is different if that makes any difference? I don't think this is a problem (apart from it being an extra set of figures that are not needed), although I would like to be sure and I wondered if you had any idea why it might have occurred.

Sorry if I have not explained it very well. I could send you a copy of the log if you would like.

Sorry to take up your time with what appears to be an unimportant problem

thanks in advance

Dave.

The extra figure at the end is wind chill, as documented in the help file. I can't remember what version started adding that to the data file. I don't know why you have those few duplicate entries; I guess there was some sort of glitch when you changed versions of Cumulus on that date - I assume there are just a few duplicates and then it started behaving properly?

Oops

Thanks steve,

I see it now. That must have been the time I updated to the next version. On closer inspection I can see that the values in my extra column are often less than those in my current temp column which of course would be the windchill

I only had the double recording of data at the time I told you about and it has been normal ever since.

Thank you for your prompt reply and putting my mind at rest. I feel a bit of a burk again now ;)

Cheers Dave
