Rain data error

Hi, I'm new to Cumulus software (started using it on 1st May), so apologies if this has been asked before.
My system has been running fine for two days, but unknown to me something happened yesterday at 10:00. Since then, I have straight lines on the graphs etc., as expected, but I also 'acquired' 15.6mm of rain, (in dry sunny weather). I tried to edit the all time rain records to 0.0 but they still show 15.6mm on the screen if I close and re-open the edit screen. It seems they are not being written to wherever when I edit them. The May09log.txt file seems to have been saving data every 10 minutes throughout this period.
Incidentally, the dayfile.txt in the data folder shows entries only for the 1st and 2nd of May, even though it is the 4th today and it has been running virtually continuously since installation. I have added the files in case it helps.

Regards, Richard.

It appears that Cumulus lost contact with the station at about 10:00 yesterday. It doesn't have a mechanism for detecting this, so it continues to log the same data repeatedly.

Then at about 06:00 this morning, contact was re-established - did you restart Cumulus? The data then shows that the rain counter in the station has increased by 15.6:

04/05/09,06:00,12.5,72,7.5,0.7,2.7,351,0.0,0.0,1031.9,244.8,26.0,37,1.7,12.5
04/05/09,06:01,1.2,89,-0.4,0.0,0.0,0,0.0,15.6,1034.1,260.4,23.7,31,0.0,1.2

To get rid of this rain you need to stop Cumulus and edit today.ini to set the start= value to 260.4. You can also edit may09log.txt at the same time to set those 15.6 readings back to zero.

I don't know why Cumulus didn't do the rollover at midnight last night (which is what would have created the entry in the dayfile for 3rd May), but I guess it's connected with whatever problem you had that lasted from 10:00 yesterday to 06:00 today.
