Cumulus Support

website gauges page www.gennett.net. what could be wrong with it. I have everything working good but, not that. Using 1.8.6 - Any suggestions? Thanks, Becky

The realtime gauges depend on the realtime.txt file being uploaded by cumulus. Do you have the "Enable realtime" tickbox ticked under the Internet options?

It does appear that the realtime.txt file isn't being uploaded.

I figured it wouldn't be worth it to start a new thread if I'm having the same issue as the thread starter.

Anyways, I just downloaded and began using Cumulus, but am also having trouble with the real-time wind speed/direction/time data, as it does not show up at all. Here are my conditions:

-I do indeed have the "enable real-time" box checked, with an update interval of 3 seconds specified.
-The FTP works to my site, as all of the pages appear.
-I did upload the necessary .swf file to make the flash image appear, and it does appear.
-The only thing I did not upload to my site is the dbimages folder and its contents. Since I plan on placing the real-time wind indicators and the trend graphs on my current site and not using the other pages provided, I don't see the need to upload this folder's contents. Is it necessary to do so in order to get the real-time wind to work? I don't know how to create a "dbimages" directory in my FTP - I'll have to contact my host and have him do this action for me (I already have an "images" directory in my FTP for my site, so I didn't need to make a new one).

Like I said, enable real-time box is checked, and the FTP works otherwise. The gauge is visible, but no wind or time data is present. Anyone know what the problem could be?

Sorry, somehow I also forgot to add that there is no realtime.txt file being uploaded, despite the fact that real-time is enabled....left that out in the last post.

The two Flash gauges don't require the dbimages folder, I suspect the realtime.txt upload is failing, or the file is going to the wrong place. You may have the ftp directory specified incorrectly - depending on how your server is set up, it's possible to specify it in such a way that it happens to work for the normal uploads but fails for realtime uploads. If you turn on ftp logging, the ftplog.txt and realtimeftplog.txt files should help.

Turns out it was indeed the directory issue - I should have left the field blank, as I'm sending the Cumulus files directly to my main directory on my FTP and not any sub-directory. Real-time wind data is now working, and it's awesome. Thanks for the help, Steve!
