yes i have tried that. COM3 is the port that is always there even when nothing is plugged in and its a USB port sadly.

The make and model of the motherboard should be printed on it. It seems odd, though, assuming you didn't build the PC yourself, that it didn't come with the drivers already installed, and the COM port working.

I imagine that it came with drivers but they must of got deleted or corrupted somehow...

Hi
Found many sites which have all the drivers for the PC
Does anyone know which motherboard driver would be best to download, i.e PCI bus, Chipset, COM port etc...

I Uninstalled the existing drivers and re-installed the motherboard drivers like you suggested and IT WORKED.
