Assuming you mean the Profile settings on this Forum it should be
Code: Select all

If you just want the image and do not want people to be redirected to your site if they click on the image it should be
Code: Select all

You must use the Forum delimiters as direct HTML makes the board liable to be hacked so are not allowed.
The standard board delimiters are available at the top of the posting area in the little boxes.

The only thing I can think of is have you uploaded checkserver.php (it is included in the .zip file) to your website and run it with
http://www.bramptonweather.co.uk/checkserver.php to check your ISP has all the PHP settings that are required?
Not all ISPs have implemented GD for instance.

His website isn't HTTPS, so mixed content will be blocked on sites that use HTTPS.

check server says all OK
( I take it someone has now entered my profile and edited my signature and removed its content ?) - moderator ?
I looked into making my site secure, but 123reg were wanting £60 plus VAT - so naturally for purposes I havent pursued it.
SO are you thinking it will never work ?

Sorry Paul, it was me trying to get it to work for you.
Not sure why this would not work but I am still looking. I after all am issuing an http call to the banner in my signature even though my main site is https, so I am not sure that is the problem.

I just noticed that.. hmm
Ray Proudfoot's banner doesn't show like Pauls, and hasn't for a year or two. I assumed that was down to https..
Do you have any redirects in your .htaccess?

Mine is the same, no longer shows on forum posts.
http://www.komokaweather.com/weather/banner.php
And GoDaddy wants $84.99, on sale, for first year and then $124.75 for SSL certificate.
Enjoy,
Paul

GoDaddy is money grubbing for certs.
You can use free Let's Encrypt certs on a GoDaddy cPanel shared hosting site ..
https://letsencrypt.org/docs/godaddy/ and
https://www.godaddy.com/help/install-a- ... ount-28023
But... it's complicated (but worth it)
Other hosters are far friendlier in using Let's Encrypt free certs. I use them throughout my sites (hosted on 1and1 VPS servers).
Details about the process are shown here
https://punchsalad.com/ssl-certificate/ ... t-godaddy/

OK - so thats confirmed, banners dont work on this forum without a "S" on your HTTP
At least I know - intend to try and give that free certificate site a go, but I will wait until my son is around for help, looks a little tricky.
cheers everyone

Thanks Ken on the GoDaddy / Let's Encript info and links. Seems a bit daunting, but will review the documentation.
Enjoy,
Paul
