Cumulus stopped with BST clock change

Post by forestedge »

While I was away over Easter, my pc clock automatically changed but Cumulus stopped at 0200 hrs on 31st March until I restarted it today. My Davis VP2 plus continued to log data normally and its fine now. Is there any reason for this :?:

I've never heard of it happening to anyone else before. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll see if I can see anything.

There's nothing there to help, I'm afraid. It's as if all the timers stopped firing when BST started, there's nothing in the diags log after 00:45. But it appears that it did write the 02:00 log entry, which would have been after the clock change.

When you looked at it, it had just completely frozen, nothing was updating?

Yes, it had frozen so I had to restart Cumulus and it downloaded all the data from 0300 BST on the 31st.

Yes, that's interesting, I hadn't noticed that. It seems the station changed its clock at the wrong time, at 0200 GMT instead of 0100 GMT. I don't think this can be related to the problem you had, though.

I have the same issue, but it's not fixed by rebooting.
Online data is ok, but i get no graphs at all since 1st of April.
Debug log doesn't show anything related, does it?

Weather station is WH1080 and Cumulus runs on WinXP.

Thanks. I'm not onsite but i'll do it when i'm there.

I looked the text data of April while i was there, and that showed data properly.
Only the graphs are out.

In that case it's likely to be a problem in the April log file, so if you can't find the problem I'll need to see that as well, please.

At the start of the file there are two lines with dates in the future, so the date on your PC must have gone wrong at some point in the past. If you stop Cumulus and delete those two lines, that may well fix the graphs.

Thank you Steve! That was it. I should have figured that out myself...
Strange behavior though. Where did that 20th of April come on 1st of April? Well, windows is like that ;)
