missing data in dayfile that 1.9.0 didn't have

When in Cumulus and you select "edit dayfile" I have missing data fields (only from when I started in 2010). These extra fields were generated when I upgraded to, the much better, 1.9.1 back in 2011. Such fields are:
19: Lowest humidity
20: Time of lowest humidity
21: Highest humidity
22: Time of highest humidity
23: Total evapotranspiration
24: Total hours of sunshine
25: High heat index
26: Time of high heat index
27: High apparent temperature
28: Time of high apparent temperature
29: Low apparent temperature
30: Time of low apparent temperature
31: High hourly rain
32: Time of high hourly rain
33: Low wind chill
34: Time of low wind chill
35: High dew point
36: Time of high dew point
37: Low dew point
38: Time of low dew point
39: Today's dominant/average wind direction
40: Heating degree days

...wow that was long...anyway, not that I want ALL those fields filled with data, but is there an easy way to do it (don't be silly Michael hahaha) or do I have to put the log files in to Excel and do a data sort and pick out what I want (and then place manually back into dayfile.txt)? There are major weather events that occurred during this time, which I have gone back through the data to find a record I had set, but was never recorded (ie. Highest hourly rain of 97mm). But there may be more! Cheers for any help.

The dayfile.txt editor doesn't currently allow you to fill in missing fields, only entire missing entries (there is an enhancement request for this). I don't recommend you delete all of the entries and recreate them, the result won't be quite as good as the real thing. But it would give you complete entries (I think). You could take a copy of dayfile.txt, delete it from the data folder, and give it a try, if you're feeling adventurous. If the result wasn't very good you could revert to the original, and manually merge in the extra fields that the editor created. A bit tedious, but possibly quicker than doing it with Excel.

I have done exactly this Steve, worked a charm, with the usual warnings about using Excel and watching date formats. To avoid any problems and maintain the format exactly I recommend that when opening the dayfile in Excel, at the screen that gives you the option of choosing the column format, select all the columns and change them from 'General' to 'Text'. That way you just use Excel as a column aware text editor.
