website font size and color
First off I am new to the HTML code thing so I apologize if this seems elementary. I created a section on my website titled "Snow Report" using HTML code for tables. It looks fine for me and I was able to specify Font size and color for that section. Directly below this section I created a link to the Weatherunderground site and labeled it "Forecast" I was able to center the text and "bold" it but I am not able to change color or size. I have tried placing it above the "Snow" section but had the same results. Any Ideas? Thanks

Re: website font size and color
Where you have you have a few problems, e.g. you haven't closed the paragraph tag. Your easiest fix is to use an inline style as you did with the snow report, e.g:
Steve
Code: Select all
<p align="center"font size=175% Code: Select all
<p align="center" style="font-size:175%"> -

Re: website font size and color
Thanks for your help Steve. I tried as you suggested but the result is the same. Complete code is below It seems the color and size are the same as the "Conditions" table below this paragraph. Is there something in .css file that overrides the coding?
<p align="center" style="font-size:175%"> <b>**FORECAST** </b></p><p><p align="center"<a
href="http://www.wunderground.com/US/CO/Woodl ... igwx"><img
src="http://weathersticker.wunderground.com/ ... d_Park.gif"
alt="Click for Woodland Park, Colorado Forecast" border="0" height="60" width="468" /></a></p>
<p align="center" style="font-size:175%"> <b>**FORECAST** </b></p><p><p align="center"<a

Re: website font size and color
Just noticed something . I always use FireFox as my browser, When I looked at my site in IE8 it looks different. The "Snow Report" table is separated from its title and interestingly the "Forecast" title looks larger. Does FireFox do something different with code than IE8? Just curious.

Re: website font size and color
You have a more basic problem to resolve !
NONE of your <tr> are closed (</tr>) and none of this content is being displayed (IE 7)
Code: Select all
<table border="1">
<tr>
<td>Snow Today </td>
<td><b> 0.0"<b></td><td>
<td>Snow Yesterday</td>
<td><b> 0.0"<b></td>
<tr>
<td>Monthly snow this year </td>
<td> <b> 37.0"<b></td><td>
<td>Monthly snow last year </td>
<td><b>19.5"<b></td>
<tr>
<td>Seasonal snow this year</td>
<td><b>75.5"<b><td><td>Seasonal snow last year</td>
<td><b>74.5"<b></td
</table></p><hr/><hr/>......................Imagine, what you will KNOW tomorrow !

Re: website font size and color
I did spot a few other unclosed tags too, and I guess that's one of the reasons for it rendering differently in IE and FF.

Re: website font size and color
Beteljuice, thank you for pointing that out, since I only use FireFox did not notice as it appeared fine on my screen. I redid the code and now it looks fine in IE8, don't know about IE7. But the FireFox page still does not accept the new font line for "Forecast" which is now the same as "Snow Report"

Re: website font size and color
Immediately before that part, you have some spurious close body and html tags: which may well be confusing Firefox.
There are a number of other errors, too - the HTML validator will probably be helpful to you in sorting it all out:

Steve
Code: Select all
</body>

Re: website font size and color
Thanks for the assistance. I have been working on the codes and they seem to be ok now. Did not realize browsers treat code differently. Again thank you.
