All of a sudden my last 24 hour rain total is incorrect and I can not seem to find where I can fix it. Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Last 24 hr Rain Total
The most likely cause is that your station's rain total did something odd. Cumulus usually copes with that as regards the daily total, but the 'last 24 hours' figure is complicated because it's calculated by saving the rain counter every minute and comparing the current counter with the figure 24 hours ago. Every minute, that calculation has two new values to work with. The set of values is re-initialised every time Cumulus starts, using the counter from the monthly log file.
So, you can either wait until the figure corrects itself (it doesn't get stored anywhere), or, if you really want to correct it, stop Cumulus and edit the March log file. You'll need to change the 'total rain counter' values retrospectively so that they reflect whatever the rain counter is now (it will be in the latest entry). If it was a temporary glitch and the rain counter went back down again (it sometimes does) then the bad value may not appear in the logs and just restarting Cumulus would be enough.
I'm sorry that it's complicated and difficult to correct, but I'm not clever enough to devise a way of calculating the rain in the last 24 hours that works in any other way and isn't affected by the idiosyncratic nature of Fine Offset stations.

Re: Last 24 hr Rain Total
Ok thanks. Maybe I will just wait and see what happens before diving into the file.
