March graphs data.

I have a WH1080 weather station and have been using it without any problems for about four years. The console is connected to my PC by USB. I usually leave Cumulus running during the day but switch the PC off at night. The next morning it loads cumulus from the START file and downloads the data from the console and updates the graphs.
PROBLEM The other day it stopped updating the graphs and there is no data for March when I try to run GRAPHS or SELECT-A-GRAPH. The graphs start recording data only from the time Cumulus is "live" but don't retain it on shutdown. The historic Select-a-Graphs up to March all seem OK. The data downloads OK and I have the tabular historic data in dayfile.txt and today, yesterday, high and lows all seem OK but it is simply not compiling/displaying a March graph. It is as if whatever processes the downloaded data to produce the graph has got lost??

I am a relative amateur at all this so any help would be appreciated

Many Thanks

Peter

Have you seen this in the FAQ? http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/FAQ#When_I ... rlier_data

Does it help? If not, please zip up the diags folder and attach it, together with your Mar13log.txt data file.

Hi Steve,

I suspect I have found the problem. Should there be a DIAG file for each time Cumulus is started ?? I seem to have a file for March 1st and then no files until March 22nd as if a whole block of stuff has been deleted. I got rid of a whole load of "temp" files a few days ago could that have caused he problem?

There are no error messages in there relating to problems with the log file or drawing the graphs. Could you please attach your Mar13log.txt file, and a screen shot of an image showing the problem that you're seeing?

Yes, one for each time you start Cumulus; the latest nine files are kept. It's really best if you zip up the folder and attach it, as I asked.

I wouldn't have thought so, and in any case, assuming your March data file has all the data in there, the latest run should pick it up and plot it. Does your dayfile.txt have all of the days in March in it, up to the 23rd?

It looks like you've edited your March log file with something like Excel:

All of the entries before 17:46 on 22nd March have tabs instead of commas for delimeters, and have date formats of dd/mm/yyyy instead of the required dd/mm/yy. Cumulus will be unable to use any of the data in the wrong format.

Hi Steve,

Yes I did !! There was high wind and I have the station on an aerial post on the garage roof. It was recording phantom rain because of the post shaking about. I should be able to correct it, I think. Many thanks I will put a little something on Paypal :)

Thanks again

Peter
