Hi
I am a newbie weather watcher and have an N96GY station set up with Cumulus software.
Now I know that when the laptop is connected I am getting live data but what happens when laptop is off? Yesterday when I switched on it took ages to "download data" but didn't do it today after 12 hours being disconnected.
Do I need to do something to prompt the data download??
Can I manually make it update the data???
Or am I being a bit dim...lol
Any advice and help would be appreciated by a keen newbie. Obviously I want to build up a continuous bank of data to look back on and compare over time.

Re: Newbie help with data please
It should automatically catch up from when it was last closed down each time you start it up. If you zip up the diags folder and attach it, I'll take a look.

Thanks for the reply.
Unfortunately I am new to all this and don't know how to do that.
Should I have data showing in "yesterday" columns if it downloaded the data??

Yes, it copies today's highs and lows to the yesterday highs and lows when it does the midnight 'rollover'.Should I have data showing in "yesterday" columns if it downloaded the data??
The fact that you're using a laptop makes me wonder whether you are letting it 'sleep'? That would cause the issue you're seeing, as mentioned in the readme.txt and the FAQ.

Re: Newbie help with data please
Hi Steve
I did scan the readme and FAQS but have read them closer now..sorry.
I attach my diags folder and have set Cumulus to stop when computer suspends.
I would be grateful if you could look at the diags and see if I am doing something wrong.
Regards

Re: Newbie help with data please
You're allowing the PC to suspend, so you get gaps in your data, and the midnight rollover doesn't get done, as Cumulus is suspended at the time:
22/03/2013 22:29:41.001 : Windows SUSPEND broadcast received
23/03/2013 04:29:45.191 : Error!!! Failed to write to USB!
Note that the 'Close on suspend' setting isn't a guaranteed solution - read the help for that setting before you use it.
