Cumulus Support

Wasn't sure whether to post this under "weather by you" or Cumulus/VP2, so I've chosen to post it here:

I've got a Davis VP2 and I'm re-working my forecast icons, and I'm a little confused by the forecast number that's generated by the webtag <#forecast>. My site uses the Weather Blues Template. In Cumulus, I've got the "Cumulus forecast" box unchecked (assume that means I'm using Davis-generated forecast). Is that webtag outputting one of the 200 forecasts shown at this link:https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4140

Or is the webtag outputting one of the 26 or so values shown here:http://weatherbyyou.com/icons_grzanka.php

I'm not clear if I need to link my icons to 26 outputs or 200.

The <#forecastnumber> web tag (which I think is the one you mean) supplies the 'Zambretti' forecast number - possible values 1 to 26, and negative if the 'Exceptional weather' modifier has been applied.

Yes, you are right. I meant <#forecastnumber>

I see the Zambetti forecasts are listed A-Z (see attached). Are those letters just converted to the numbers 1-26? In addition, does <#forecastnumber> return a value of "0" for "not available"? Finally, this may be a typo on the weatherbyyou page, but it lists a value of "-1" for "exceptional fine".

This is what the help for <#forecastnumber> says: "Current forecast. See samplestrings.ini for list. Negative means 'exceptional'. Zero = no Cumulus forecast"

forecast16=Changeable, some precipitation
forecast17=Unsettled, short fine intervals
forecast18=Unsettled, precipitation later
forecast19=Unsettled, some precipitation
forecast20=Mostly very unsettled
forecast21=Occasional precipitation, worsening
forecast22=Precipitation at times, very unsettled
forecast23=Precipitation at frequent intervals
forecast24=Precipitation, very unsettled
forecast25=Stormy, may improve
forecast26=Stormy, much precipitation

So -1 is "Exceptional weather, Settled fine", whatever that means.
