Mobile website: automated transfer to PDA or WAP versions

Thanks to the fantastic and generous people here who have provided their projects for free, as well as my main website at http://www.wetherbyweather.org.uk I also have a (perhaps nascent) website optimised for iPhone / PDA at http://pda.wetherbyweather.org.uk , and a WAP version at http://wap.wetherbyweather.org.uk .
When I visit websites on my phone, e.g. the BBC, it automatically detects it's a PDA (Android in this case) and loads the PDA version, or on my older phone, a WAP browser and supplies the WAP version. There's always the option to override, however, so that for example if I land at the PDA version and want the main website I can click a link and get there.
iCumulus does a little of this, for iphones / ipods it automatically redirects from the main website to the PDA version. But that's a small part of the above.
I was wondering if anybody knows an easy way (preferably "plug and play" lol) to do the above. I have hosting on a LAMP server, I can do HTML / CSS and tinker with PHP, even less with JavaScript.
Thank you!
