Modifying template colours
Hi there!, Old bod returning to the fold as it were. Used to have a site many moons ago, but have completely forgotten how I edited the template panel/lines/fonts colours. Wonder if someone can kick start my aging memory please.
Also, I have found, and tried to use, backgrounds supplied by
http://www.infoservemedia.com/design/re ... ckgrounds/ but they only cover a small portion of the page ie bottom left. Can anyone tell me how to stretch said backgrounds to fill the page. Thanks
Regards
Brian (Just bought a WH-1081 from Maplin for 60 quid)

Re: Modifying template colours
The colour settings are in the style sheet - weatherstyle.css. The background image settings are in the same file, near the beginning:
background-attachment: fixed;
background-image: url(images/picture.jpg);
background-repeat: no-repeat;
background-position: left bottom;
You can find information on those settings here - http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_background.asp

Re: Modifying template colours
Hi Steve, I have made a start on color change, but in for a penny as they say as I couldn't resist having a go at my own home page too. Still under heavy construction, but here's what I've done so far. http://freespace.virgin.net/brian.walker3/wx/system.htm
Incidentally, any ideas how to make a scrolling weather forecast?. Yeah I know, running before I can walk
Best Regards

Re: Modifying template colours
Beyond me, I'm afraid. If you look at the source of the forum page, you can see the javascript that does that scrolling 'latest build' stuff. If it doesn't quite do what you want, you may be able to modify it. There are probably other implementations out there on the web.g0hdi wrote:Incidentally, any ideas how to make a scrolling weather forecast?. Yeah I know, running before I can walk

Re: Modifying template colours
Hi again Steve! Further to my query about scrolling forecasts, I've been tinkering again. Can't resist it, and probably end up completely over the top
Anyway, using logic I came up with the following which you see is working on my page
<font color="#66FFFF"><marquee bgcolor="#000066" direction="left" loop="40" width="50%">The current weather forecast from this station is.....<#forecast></marquee></font>
Background,font colors and message to suit yourself of course.

Re: Modifying template colours
Further to my last, I've noticed a strange anomaly. The scrolling forecast actually disappears after about 12 minute
Refreshing the page brings it back again
I don't suppose any viewer will be around for that long anyway, but what do you make of that one anyone?..
Regards, Brian

Re: Modifying template colours
Now why didn't I think of that
Dohhhhh!.
That's how I found the original code, but forgot about the loop bit. I'll take that out and see what happens.
