I updated the files to fix this issue. I also made some other corrections.

ALSO! I have completed a forecaster based on The Sager Weathercaster which is much more accurate than the Zambretti offerings. I will be releasing it in a new thread soon after some more testing and optimizations.

Something in the new code does not work. I inserted the Cumulus webtag for Latitude, but it does not load. The "..Getting Forecast..." link never gets the forecast. I reverted back to previous version and all is well.

Give it another try. I just updated it and found that the issue was due to a wind setting. Do it all from scratch as changes have been made.

I plan to release BT's Global Sager Weathercaster JavaScript on 5/5/2013 after I do some more testing.

It's been awhile, but I decided to update these from JavaScript to PHP and add a few improvements. If you are out in the middle of nowhere and the closest METAR reporting station is 30+ miles away, BT's Global Zambretti Weathercard Forecaster PHP Scripts For Cumulus may be exactly what you are looking for. If you are within 30 miles of a METAR reporting station, BT's Global Sager Weathercaster PHP Scripts For Cumulus will give you the most accuracy using your weather station's data.

The latest version is 2014-02-02. I changed all of the default forecast readings so they are based on a South wind. This way, the barometric pressure offset is an addition to the barometric pressure used. This offset is based on location, time of year, and wind direction.

Unless there is something worth changing, this should be the final version.

If you would like to have a Zambretti Weathercard Forecaster of your own, you can get it from the .torrent attached below. You will need to use some good, heavy, photo paper to print and cut the dials out.

I've been looking with interest at the 'digital' versions of the Zambretti weather forecaster. I have the original dial version and am wondering how the digital versions cope when the result is in-between two letters (see attached image for example)?

I tried looking at the code and it seems that the range for letter 'B', for example, is from the mid-point of letter 'B' up to the mid-point of letter 'C'. However, shouldn't the range depend on whether the barometer is rising or falling?

For example, if the result for a rising reading is slightly before B then it should be rounded positively (i.e. A), but if the result for a falling reading is slightly before B then it should be rounded negatively (i.e. B). For a steady reading, the range could be from in-between a letter to in-between the next letter (i.e. the range of 'B' would be from the point in-between A and B to the point in-between B and C).

@gosigweather

It's been awhile but I came up with a formula for the forecast letters. If you click on the red forecast, you can see the settings currently being used to determine it which you should be able to match. Remember though this is the Weathercard and not the circular Zambretti dial.
