Hi,
For quite a few days I've looked at the cumulus screen to see the "last data read" was significantly out from the current time. Today, it was actually more than a day out. So i had to change the today.ini and Apr09log.txt to get the info back from the device.
Problem today was that not only are the highest min temp and lowest max temp completely out (500 and -999) I can;t find a way to change those. Plus the device only logs every 5 mins, not my usual 1 minute (I like the precision on the graphs). Plus I'm missing a huge chunk now out of my Apr09log.txt (19/04/09 22:20 - 20/04/09 22:24, so it kept 20/04/09 22:24 - 21/04/09 14:59).. I thought the device kept more entries than that.
19/04/09,22:19,8.7,88,6.8,1.1,2.0,351,0.0,0.0,1025.6,38.7,22.7,48,1.4,8.7
19/04/09,22:20,8.7,88,6.8,1.2,2.0,354,0.0,0.0,1025.7,38.7,22.7,48,2.0,8.7
20/04/09,22:24,8.5,87,6.5,1.0,1.0,45,0.0,0.0,1027.2,38.7,22.8,49,1.0,8.5
20/04/09,22:29,8.5,87,6.5,0.6,1.0,36,0.0,0.0,1027.2,38.7,22.9,49,0.3,8.5
Not only that, cumulus hasn't graphed anything for today, even though it has a full data list (albeit for every 5 mins) from the device.
These problems may have been caused by the fact I changed web update to 1 min instead of my normal 5 mins (changed it back now).
Are there any way for it to re-calc the records? As I doubt i'll ever get any temps to take over the current ones.

Re: Cumulus 1.8.6 stops recording
The only way to change the records is with the editor, or go back to one of the backups from before the incorrect ones were recorded. Assuming you have a Fine Offset station (could you update your profile, please?) they hold about two weeks data at the 5 minute logging interval.
It's rather odd that you have almost exactly 24 hours missing - are you sure you edited today.ini and apr09log.txt correctly?
Could you let me have the contents of your diags folder, plus your apr09log.txt and dayfile.txt, please.
Steve

Re: Cumulus 1.8.6 stops recording
I've just redone the Data-retrieval process and I have got all of the missing records back, i did change today.ini and removed the entries from Apr09log.txt so maybe I missed the "Date" option in today.ini and only changed the timestamp (?).
The graphs are now back for previous days so that's all okay. Just now why it freezes. Would you like me to send the diag folder to an email addy?
Would packetloss/timing out of the FTP server cause this problem, as I have had occassional PL recently. Still even if it was that, Cumulus shouldn't stop retrieving data from the logger.
Thanks!

Yes please - steve@sandaysoft.comAlcedema wrote:Would you like me to send the diag folder to an email addy?
That's right, it shouldn't. What a few people have been seeing recently which does cause that is the device apparently disconnecting from the USB. But I think that what normally happens in that situation is that the last received data gets logged repeatedly. The diag files may hold some clues.Would packetloss/timing out of the FTP server cause this problem, as I have had occassional PL recently. Sent, and yes, I found that it was logging the same data over and over again. But that may not be in the logs as I deleted those entries.
