Changing which Channel Cumulus records
I've had to buy another external temp sensor (my third!!!) as the one in the wind unit sends incorrect data (as humidity rises so does the temp. Its 95% today and 31 degs C....for goodness sake!). How do I make Cumulus record the new sensor which I have given selected to be Ch2 and can I delete Ch 1 altogether from the OS desk top terminal. Many thanks in advance, an excellent software.

Re: Changing which Channel Cumulus records
Stop Cumulus and edit cumulus.ini. In the [Station] section, add a line
WMR200TempChannel=2
and it will then use channel 2 as your 'main' channel, and ignore channel 1.

You will find that file, where you installed Cumulus. The deafult path is: C:\Cumulus\Cumulus.ini

The default location for cumulus.ini is C:\Cumulus\Cumulus.ini

Re: Changing which Channel Cumulus records
so I've changed as advised and as below..... quote
[MainForm]
Left=150
Top=48
[Station]
wmr100tempchannel=2
Type=8
Model=
Port=0
Latitude=40.8291666666667
Longitude=0.478055555555556
LatTxt=N 40° 49' 45"
LonTxt=E 00° 28' 41"
Altitude=80
AltitudeInFeet=0
Humidity98Fix=0
Wind10MinAverage=0
UseSpeedForAvgCalc=0
CalculatedDP=1
end quote
but nothing has changed. Cumulus is showing Channel 1 not Channel 2. I've done what you suggested but it hasn't solved the problem, therefore I have not done what you suggested,,,,,,if you see what I mean. Where have I gone wrong?

You haven't done what I said. Read what I wrote, not what you think I wrote
WMR200TempChannel=2

Thank you. Are you always so polite to people who could send a donation in recognition of a very decent piece of s/ware?

Re: Changing which Channel Cumulus records
I'll assume that was sarcasm; but I thought my response was reasonably polite.
It doesn't bother me one way or the other, Colin*; I spend a lot of time doing support for free, if I was actually paid for the time I spend on Cumulus I'd be pretty well off by now. And I wouldn't have to spend anywhere near as much time as I do if people would read the documentation that's provided, and I didn't have to keep repeating myself on the forum. Sometimes I amaze myself at how patient and polite I actually am on here.
*Please do accept my most profound apologies if that isn't your name.

Notice the winking smiley that Steve added and also as its a "decent piece of software" I would have thought you would have already donated ....ColinConxa wrote:Thank you. Are you always so polite to people who could send a donation in recognition of a very decent piece of s/ware?

Re: Changing which Channel Cumulus records
Can I ask how to do the same thing with a WMR918?
My main temp sensor also packed in and has been replaced with another sensor which appears as 'extra sensor 1' in Cumulus. How can I make this the main outdoor temp sensor?
Thanks.

Re: Changing which Channel Cumulus records
That would be channel 2, I think? If so, stop Cumulus and edit cumulus.ini. In the [Station] section, add a line
WMR928TempChannel=2
WMR928TempChannel=2
