What is "Current:"?

I have been wondering what the input line in the lower right-hard corner if the Cumulus screen is for? It appears to be some sort of input line, but for what? Sorry for the dumb question, but I can't find the answer. Apparently I am doing the wrong search for the answer or it doesn't exist? :oops:

I'm not sure what you mean, can you screen shot the bit in question?

I think he may mean current conditions box ?

See <#currcond> under "Miscellaneous" here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Webtags

and here: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Currentconditions.txt

Basically it's a user text box that can be inserted in one of your webpages if required.

It's the 'current conditions' box. It sets the value of the <#currcond> web tag so you can manually enter data to be displayed on your web site. It's off by default; you've presumably turned it on unintentionally. You can turn it off again on the display settings screen.

See the attached graphic below to better explain what I am referring to. The spot I am referring to I have the comment "WHAT IS THIS FOR?" in it.

I use it and have <#currcond> under a smaller version of my weather cam on my front page. I just manually alter it through the day.
The down side is I am invariably forgetting to change it and remember at midnight when it is still showing sunny :roll:

Thanks everyone. I now understand this and how it works. Except for one little thing and that is how can you add a text field prior to the <#currcond> field? Something like "Current Conditions: " and not have this displaying when there is nothing in the <#currcond> field? :?:

Took me a while to work it out duh! :oops:
I just added the web tag <#currcond> under the forecast in the index page, and if I don't write anything in the box, then there is nothing shown.... like somebody else said I'll forget to update it and we'll be in the middle of summer and I'll have something like ".... its still snowing hard out there!" :lol:

Why are all your nav menus colspan=3, they should be colspan=4.

Also you may like to put a space between each of the 'double colons' :: (to become : :).

That will help your overlong nav menu wrap and make your pages look much better ;)

@beteljuice
If that was addressed to me, tell me what to do as I know zilch about editing and was simply taken from the original pages...

@ tomcatuk - sorry for not being clearer.

Your navigation links code needs changing from:

Code: Select all

  <tr>
     <td colspan="3" class="td_navigation_bar">:<a href="index.php">now</a>::<a href="gauges.php">gauges</a>::<a href="today.php">today</a>::<a href="yesterday.php">yesterday</a>::<a href="thismonth.php">this&nbsp;month</a>::<a href="thisyear.php">this&nbsp;year</a>::<a href="record.php">records</a>::<a href="monthlyrecord.php">monthly&nbsp;records</a>::<a href="trends.php">trends</a>::<a href="noaa-reports.php">noaa reports</a>:<a href="https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/">forum</a>:</td>
 </tr>
To:

Code: Select all

  <tr>
     <td colspan="4" class="td_navigation_bar">:<a href="index.php">now</a>: :<a href="gauges.php">gauges</a>: :<a href="today.php">today</a>: :<a href="yesterday.php">yesterday</a>: :<a href="thismonth.php">this&nbsp;month</a>: :<a href="thisyear.php">this&nbsp;year</a>: :<a href="record.php">records</a>::<a href="monthlyrecord.php">monthly&nbsp;records</a>: :<a href="trends.php">trends</a>: :<a href="noaa-reports.php">noaa reports</a>: :<a href="https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/">forum</a>:</td>
 </tr>
As your pages are .php, I don't know which / where the templates are that you need to edit.

The same here. However, I have changed the heading to "Last Observation Made", which I think is a better description since I cannot always update it in real time. Hopefully viewers of the web page will accept that it was 'Sunny', even if it is now night time etc.
