Data Upload to Website

Why is it when the web page updates it overwrites what was there just before. Eg. if a background picture was in place, at the next update it is overwritten and the standard plain web page is back. I'm assuming its in the HTML coding somewhere, but if anyone could help me out with that, it would be cool.

I have a student mate that wants to design a website for my weather data, I see a few people have uploaded and arranged the data to fit. So, how can I stop the overwriting and returning to the standard Cumulus upload? Please. I'm sure my mate will work it out, but he did ask for any information that might make his life easier

Thanks

I don't really understand what you're seeing. Could you explain what you've done, and perhaps give a link to your web site? Have you been modifying the processed pages (e.g. index.htm) rather than the templates (e.g. indexT.htm)?

If you want to stop Cumulus uploading the supplied default pages, you can untick 'include standard pages' on the files tab of the internet settings. But it's not clear whether that's actually what you want.

We didn't really do anything last night, my friend popped round and moved a file from webfiles to web and we got a background picture up on the web, but then the next update to the website it all changed back to this http://www.majorincident.webspace.virginmedia.com/

Some sites, well a lot of sites use the Cumulus web background like this http://www.newbees.plus.com/ but like I said, everytime it updates to the site it overwrites and returns to the blank white background.

Is that any better?

You don't seem to have uploaded the style sheet (weatherstyle.css); http://www.majorincident.webspace.virgi ... rstyle.css gives a '404 not found'.

Similarly, the background image which is referenced from the css file needs to be called picture.jpg and be in the images directory, but http://www.majorincident.webspace.virgi ... icture.jpg also gives a 404.
