Hi all, first time posting. Have a Fine offset WH1081 and have successfully gently washed the humidity sensor twice over the years as it was stuck at 100% (BBQ smoke contamination?) this time reads 40% low. Does anyone know of the replacement no ie HS1101lf ?

Hi,

Welcome to the forum and apologies for a late reply.

Sadly, I don't think that anybody has identified a part number for the humidity sensor. It's said to be made by the Chinese company HopeRF (which appears to be closely related to Fine Offset) but there don't appear to be any suppliers/distributors for small quantities of "spares".

A few months ago on this forum, somebody reported exchanging the (faulty) humidity sensor in their External Transmitter with that in the Console (since he had no requirement for an internal humidity reading). But it was then necessary to install the (faulty) external sensor into the Console before the Console software would run properly again.

You might find a similar-looking sensor on ebay, or you might be able to buy a complete FO transmitter module for about £15 (from Maplin). However, there appear to be "issues" concerning differences in the the wireless protocols (and of course frequencies) so you might still have to transfer the humidity sensor to the "old" external transmitter. Also, it is possible (not known) that some "calibration" of the humidity sensor might be present in another chip within the external transmitter module.

Cheers, Alan.

Thank you for replying. The sensor in my outdoor unit is made by Humirel. Have ordered a couple from Hong Kong through ebay. Will post results if they work and I can check the calibration.
