Rain data

We have had a couple of days of rain just lately (not a lot by UK standards) but it is the first that I have "collected" since using cumulus software on my WH1081.

I attach 3 screen shots. I am unable to get my head around what is shown on the 2 graph shots. The data on the main screen is correct as far as I can tell - but the graphs??

Am I not understanding something??

Hi,

You seem to have an unusually short timescale set for the "daily" graph. I would have expected at least 24 hours (personally, I have set mine to 3 days).

It appears that you had moderately "steady" rain from about 20.00 yesterday until 4.30 today and Cumulus reset the rain count at midnight (as expected). However, you had no rain during the period shown by the "daily" graph (but there was some earlier in the day) so it has just shown a horizontal line. IMHO the only "issue" is that the (auto-scaling) graph component hasn't shown any vertical scale values, but normally if there is any rain (within the display time range), then the scale works fine, and if there is none during a full day then a zero is shown.

Cheers, Alan.

I think the chart component's scaling has gone awry because normally it would expect to have a zero value in there somewhere (as you would with a 24-hour or more range). I'll see if I can fix the lower bound at zero instead of assuming it will always be there. It looks like I did that for the thumbnail.

Thanks for the quick reply . . so I reset the scaling, but what else . . shall I copy the data for February and save it somewhere, and do a un-install and re-install ??

Any other ideas as what I should do . . ??

Thanks in advance . .

Your data's fine - unless I'm missing something? If you set the interval to 24 hours and restart, the graph should look sensible.

Thanks . . I think I am getting my head around this now  Is there any way that I can change the y axis on the select a graph = or even the x axis without selecting the dates?

Thanks

No; the x-axis is controlled by the start and end date selections, and the y-axis is completely under the control of the chart component.

The graph isn't zoomed in is it?

Thanks for the clarification . . I just wondered if the y was adjustable . . and the original screen shots were not zoomed.

I have now adjusted the display settings for the graph at 24 hours and 7 days . . all now OK :P and as I said earlier am now more familiar with what the program is telling me . . . .

A lovely presentation . . and very impressed with the support

Great job
