How to change Pressure to Barometer graph?

Post by William Grimsley »

Hi Steve,

I've been looking through the samplestrings.ini file and found that you CAN change the graph preview/big titles...so I changed Pressure to Barometer on both lines:

SmallGraphPressureTitle=Barometer

and

LargeGraphPressureTitle=Barometer

But, it didn't work.

How do I do this?

Thanks

William

Hi Steve,

Sorry, that I didn't make sense the first time around.

I went into the samplestrings.ini file and then I changed.

SmallGraphPressureTitle=Pressure

To

SmallGraphPressureTitle=Barometer

Then,

LargeGraphPressureTitle=Pressure

To

LargeGraphPressureTitle=Barometer

Hope this helps...

Then what you need to do is follow the instructions: http://wiki.sandaysoft.com/a/Strings.ini

Maybe it would be better to add a commented section to the ini file saying that you should rename it to strings.ini if you wish to use it, to avoid confusion or something. Just my 2 cents though.

I mean, the file that comes with Cumulus is called "samplestrings.ini". If you wish to use a customised version of it, you'll need to rename it to "strings.ini" so the changes take effect and Cumulus loads it, just as it says on the wiki.

What I meant was, in order to guide people better, leave a "commented" section in the file (samplestrings.ini) mentioning that you should rename it in case you do changes so Cumulus can load it.

Yes, I've done what you've said and renamed the file.

I can't understand what you mean, here:
leave a "commented" section in the file (samplestrings.ini)

Technical term for a part a file won't read, to avoid errors. I'll be more simple: Leaving a note in the file itself reminding people to rename it.

I know you did it correctly, I was presenting a suggestion. :)

I think the point that is being missed here is that you were making the suggestion to me, not to William.

Well, yes, I thought it was clear as I was talking about adding a section to remind people that should be done. My bad, sorry. :oops:

Don't worry, it's ok. I think there was just a bit of misunderstanding, a few posts back! :D
