Over the last week the Gold-coast has had a severe weather depression that brought gallons of rain and wind.
During this period my Vantage Vue console was showing wind speed 0, even thought it was blowing a gale outside.
I checked through the manual and followed the diagnostics, all without success. Then two days later the wind speed reading returned with no problems. So my question is "has anyone had this happen to them before and do they have a solution as to why it happens", I have checked the anemometer and all is OK.
Cheers
Brian

Re: Wind Speed Indicator
I have noticed since I bought my Vantage Vue (2yrs ago) and is located in the middle of a field at 2.5m off the ground that even when we have storm winds the maximum wind or gust registered is between 64 and 66 km/hr.
I have a feeling that the machine can't count and quicker.
Did you manage to register all your rain?

Re: Wind Speed Indicator
The Vue should be able to do much better than that; up to 290 km/h. Is that the highest that the console is recording, or is that Cumulus, or both?grandrouge wrote:I have noticed since I bought my Vantage Vue (2yrs ago) and is located in the middle of a field at 2.5m off the ground that even when we have storm winds the maximum wind or gust registered is between 64 and 66 km/hr.

Re: Wind Speed Indicator
Hi Steve, the problem is not due to Cumulus as the console shows the same max speeds in all the records. I saw the specs saying 290km/hr and even when it says 100km gusts here in Brittany...68 is still the max. The other day the heavy wooden garden table was blown off the SW facing terrace.

Re: Wind Speed Indicator
Is your weather station well exposed? That could be a factor, wind speeds are different almost in every place in a garden
