An Error Occurred in Cumulus

Post by Bill »

Hi Steve, Sorry to be a bunny but Cumulus will not run for me. I initially started it up without the unit plugged in to my computer and prior to reading the readme file. Have read the readme and believe that is OK now but still no luck. I am not a wizz at this so please be gentle with me. Many thanks Bill (NZ) :bash:

You have a Hewlett Packard computer and you have the same problem that other users of HP computers have had. See https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=8810 for example. I'm afraid I don't have a fix, and I can't think of anything to suggest other than what I said in that thread. The code which is crashing isn't mine.

I'll ask on the support forum for the third-party code to see if they have any ideas.

Could you try something please? Copy the attached cumulus.ini file into your Cumulus folder. All it does is set the station type to 'Fine Offset with Solar Sensors'. This means that when you start Cumulus up, it won't automatically open the station settings window. I'm wondering if that's something to do with the problem. If it doesn't crash, you'll need to open the station settings window yourself a.s.a.p. to set your units and other information.
