New Station

Post by The_One »

Well my 2yr and 8mth old La Crosse gave up the ghost early December, first the wind vane then the unit wouldn't run wired to the temp gauge but runs ok wireless (weird), and now the temp sensor is throwing weird readings. Well I've took the plunge and ordered a Davis Vantage Vue. My question is this, will i be ok just swapping stations in Cumulus setup and continue collecting data that way or would it be better to start a fresh, if i just swap stations in set up I've got a month and a bit missing data wise (might be more till i get the station set and in place).
Comments most welcome.
Thanks Jem

You'll be OK just swapping station types. You may have a bit of tidying to do on the data, because of the missing period, and because the rainfall counter will be different.

Thanks for the reply Steve. I thought I might have to do a bit of file editing, there are a few stations near me that I can get most of the info from to allow me to edit the files to the correct values. Just have to wait for it to arrive and the weather to play ball so I can get it installed and running.
Thanks Jem
