Humidity Unit Tag?

Hi Steve,
Is it possible to put a unit tag into the realtime.txt for humidity? e.g <#humidityunit>
If not, can it be made possible in the future?
Thanks
Will

No, that wouldn't be at all sensible. It's always "%".

Steve,
What I'm saying is is that the humidity in realtime.txt is just a figure with no "%".
I hope you can tell what I mean by this.

Yes, just like all of the other data in realtime.txt. If they had units, then most software (e.g. gauges) which used the file would have to strip off the units again in order to use the values. If you want an equivalent of realtime.txt with a "%" symbol after the relative humidity, create your own using web tags, and put the "%" in yourself.

Ok.
So, would I just use a Cumulus web tag and then try to add a "%" after it?

Yes, just like in the standard Cumulus web page templates:
Code: Select all
<td>Humidity</td>
<td><#hum>%</td>

Thanks!
Right, I did that but now I'm stuck with "90" and not "90% in realtime.txt...
Here is what my realtime.txt looked like before Cumulus processed the tags.
Code: Select all
<#date format=dd/mm/yy> <#timehhmmss> <#temp> <#hum>% <#dew> <#wspeed> <#wlatest> <#bearing> <#rrate> <#rfall> <#press> <#currentwdir> <#beaufortnumber> <#windunit> <#tempunitnodeg> <#pressunit> <#rainunit> <#windrun> <#presstrendval> <#rmonth> <#ryear> <#rfallY> <#intemp> <#inhum> <#wchill> <#temptrend> <#tempTH> <#TtempTH> <#tempTL> <#TtempTL> <#windTM> <#TwindTM> <#wgustTM> <#TwgustTM> <#pressTH> <#TpressTH> <#pressTL> <#TpressTL> <#version> <#build> <#wgust> <#heatindex> <#humidex> <#UV> <#ET> <#SolarRad> <#avgbearing> <#rhour> <#forecastnumber> <#isdaylight> <#SensorContactLost> <#wdir> <#cloudbasevalue> <#cloudbaseunit> <#apptemp> <#SunshineHours> <#CurrentSolarMax> <#IsSunny>

I copied your text into a file and got Cumulus to process it:
14/01/13 17:29:47 5.1 77% 1.4 11 11 158 0.0 2.4 1008.17 SSE 3 mph C mb mm 115.1 0.73 40.2 40.2 6.0 20.1 51 1.6 +0.3 5.3 13:09 4.2 14:20 22 15:33 35 15:24 1008.17 17:21 1005.19 13:04 1.9.3 1058 22 5.1 5.1 0.0 0.25 0 136 0.0 7 0 0 SE 461 m 0.0 0.8 0 0

Strange.
Is this file in the C:/Cumulus directory? Or do I just create the file realtime.txt stick it anywhere and use the "Files" tab in Internet Settings in order to achieve what you did?

Put it anywhere you want and use the Files tab. Note that Cumulus will overwrite it, of course, if you call the output realtime.txt and create it in the Cumulus folder, unless you turn off the 'standard' one.

Hi Steve,
Ok, I'm trying to put the same file in Cumulus but as you said it's getting overwritten. What do you mean by turning the "standard" one off?
Thanks
Will

You can't, actually, if you still want the realtime function to operate. Put yours somewhere else.

Just to clarify - you can't turn off the creation of the realtime.txt file, but you can turn off the upload, using the internet settings.

Hi Steve,
Ok, I've put the "standard" realtime.txt in the C:\Cumulus folder and I've put the "new" realtime.txt in the C:\Cumulus\web folder.
Now, it's all working.
Thanks again,
Will
