Weather Station values incorrect - retrospective correction

Post by mikechristelow »

Hi All,

I discovered today that my weather station (Technoline WS2350) has been under-recording the barometric pressure by about 20hPa :o i.e. the station was showing 993.5 but the actual was 1013.5hPa (based on other local weather data).

I beleive this occurred a couple of months ago when there was a power failure and my UPS backup was exhausted before the supply was restored. I suspect I forgot to correctly set the current hPa value on the station on restarting, so it has been wrong ever since.

To overcome this in Cumulus data, can I simply overwrite the Minimum and Maximim Pressure values in the dayfile.txt file with the recorded values + 20, for all the dates since the date of the power failure?

Many thanks,
Mike C

“It's snowing still," said Eeyore gloomily.
"So it is."
"And freezing."
"Is it?"
"Yes," said Eeyore. "However," he said, brightening up a little, "we haven't had an earthquake lately.”

That is what I would've done.
An opinion should be the result of a thought process, not a substitution.

And I suppose you ought to do the same for everywhere else that pressure values are stored (e.g. the monthly logs).
