Lightwight process/service for only sending data to web
Are there any plans for a 'lightweight' Cumulus service/process for downloading the weather data from the weather station and sending it onwards to the web site, which I could put to the Startup folder of Windows in stead of the Cumulus SW? I do not need to use the Win GUI for anything, and I would prefer to keep this on the background.

There are long term plans of a sort for something like that, yes. But the point of doing it isn't to make it 'lightweight'. Cumulus is fairly lightweight already, compared to some software. I don't think that taking out the Windows GUI from the current version of Cumulus would make it much more lightweight. You're probably better looking at other alternatives; something designed for only the weather station you use - pywws for example.
