I am new to this but as far as I know I have set up my internet settings correctly.
Cumulus isn't updating my website and if I try to do a web update from file I get an error in the ftp progress box "Connect Timeout".
Has anybody come across this problem or know what I may have done wrong.
regards
John

Re: cumulus not connecting to website
You've probably not configured the name of your ftp server correctly; but there are other possible reasons for being unable to connect. If you turn on ftp logging, the ftplog.txt file may give some useful information.

Re: cumulus not connecting to website
A bit more of the log might be useful - or is that all that was in it?
What have you got for your ftp host name?

Re: cumulus not connecting to website
I have attached the log file from my Cumulus folder.
I must admit my ftp host name is unusual but is the same as the one I am using with Filezilla which connects without any problem.
I am changing part of the username as it is my name and password but other than that it is the ftp account name e-rice have given me.
ftp://r*****2:a*****@basil.e-rice.net
Thank you for trying to help, it is much appreciated.
Regards
john

Re: cumulus not connecting to website
That's an ftp URL, not a host name. You need to use the host name - basil.e-rice.net. You enter the user name and password separately.rocketfingers wrote:ftp://r*****2:a*****@basil.e-rice.net

Re: cumulus not connecting to website
I have changed the ftp as you suggested but I still have the same problem, I have attached a 2 pics of my internet page from Cumulus to see if this will help you see what I have slipped up with.
The ftp log is still showing exactly the same errors as the log I sent to you.
Regards
John

You are still using an ftp URL, not a host name. Just use the host name - basil.e-rice.net, as I said earlier.

Re: cumulus not connecting to website
Thankyou for that, I always thought the ftp had to be in the address, even at my age its not too late to learn.
Thank you so much for your invaluable help, I would probably have been at it forever without it.
Grateful thanks
John
