Hi Guys,

Firstly, Greetings from Australia and thanks for running such a fine looking site with all sorts of useful and valuable information in it!
I have been reviewing for a while however decided to register and get asking.

In the next few weeks I have a milestone birthday and have been asked what I would like by my better half.
As a hobbyist in all sorts of technology, the idea of a weather station caught my attention.

Some of the older threads have recommendations on hardware (and types that seem to be causing trouble WH3081 im talkin' to you!) so if I could get some ideas it would be much appreciated.

Could I trouble you for some suggestions on a good kit that is at a professional level with the ability to 'add-on' later if required?
A few hundred dollars is well within budget so any links/reading/FAQ guides or recommendations you could point me onto would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Matt

If you're looking at 'professional' kit, then of the stations Cumulus works with, the only station close to that would be a Davis. And to get expandability, that would really have to be a Vantage Pro2 rather than a Vue.
