Hi Steve,
I had a dodgy USB cable and cumulus was reporting the error appropriately with the flashing red light. However, the CPU usage of cumulus when this occurred was around 35% and causing the laptop to occasionally hang. Just letting you know as that would appear to be a minor bug. I would emphasise this is NOT the "sensor lost contact" message this is base station connection to the laptop. I am using 1.9.2 (1023) with a WH2081.
Thanks for the great software!

Re: High CPU Usage when connection lost
I can confirm that if you unplug the USB cable, CPU usage does increase significantly. I can't find the cause, though; it appears not to be in Cumulus itself, but in the USB code.

Re: High CPU Usage when connection lost
What if we would monitor CPU utilisation on the process level and then unplug the USB cable? Would doing so screw up our weather data beyond repair?
This should show which process is the culprit. I may try that tonight, if Korsakoff doesn't get the better of me

An opinion should be the result of a thought process, not a substitution.

If you restart Cumulus just before doing this, you would have a set of backup files which you could revert to once you had finished experimenting.peterh wrote:What if we would monitor CPU utilisation on the process level and then unplug the USB cable?
