Cumulus Support

I set up a folder in my root directory as directed by the Cumulus software. I then copied all the files/folders over to the weather folder as directed. However, I get nowhere when trying to access the weather folder via my Firefox browser. All I get is a 403 error. My weather folder for FTP is located at home/ti99er00/domains/mydomain/public_html/weather. I assume this is the correct path. When trying to access the weather folder via Firefox, the URL is http://www.mydomain/weather.

Any suggestions or ideas?

Turn on ftp logging and look at the ftplog.txt. If you get a 'no such directory' error when Cumulus tries to change to that directory, then you've got it wrong. You need to look at the point in the directory structure that you're at when you log in, and just supply the rest of the path to your weather directory. Cumulus just logs in to the ftp server the same way you do.

I believe the FTP is working okay, it's just when trying to view the weather page using my browser, I get the following error:

An error 403 occurred when access to a password protected area was attempted
This could be because an incorrect password or username was entered.
A valid username and password is required to access this area.

This is because the page that was requested does not exist or access to a secure area was attempted.
Be certain the page name was entered correctly.

Is there just those three files (CumulusRealtime.swf, weatherstyle.css, wz_jsgraphics.js) in the folder plus the folders dbimages and images? I've always had to have a php or html file in a folder on the server in order to open a program.

BTW, the folder is NOT password protected. And the folder does exist.

Cumulus uploads the index.htm file, and other web page files, using ftp, if you've configured it to do so. You're getting the 403 error because the index.htm file isn't there, because the ftp isn't working as it should be.

I placed the Cumulus folder in a main folder on my D drive. I had it as a sub-folder before.

In other words, before I had it as follows:
D:weather:cumulus

I changed it and now I have it as:
D:cumulus

Of course the drive can (I believe) be whatever you want. For whatever reason it does not like being in a sub-folder. I chose my D drive as it has lots of available space.

I believe there was something in the docs about it needed to be like I have it now. It works like a charm now. I hope this helps you. If not, let me know.

If the problem you're seeing is that the web pages aren't appearing where you expect them to appear, then please turn on ftp logging, and attach the ftplog.txt, a screen shot of your internet settings screen, and a link to your site.

I now have Cumulus in C:\installed_programs\Cumulus and works just fine...
