Forum New and Read icons

Not a big issue but perhaps I have not got my forum settings correctly for my new computer. Started using a new computer with Windows 8 and now when I read a new message the new post image (coloured image) does not change to the read image (blank image). When catching up on a lot of new posts it is a bit more time consuming as sometimes I miss which ones I have already read. Read posts do change their image when refresh the page or press View new posts. Tried on previous Windows 7 and Vista computers and they all work as before - image changes to blank read.
Anyone else experience this with Windows 8?
Paul

I'm using Windows 8 (with Chrome) and I don't have that problem. I always use the 'View unread posts' link, and as far as I'm aware I haven't missed any posts or seen any twice, and the icons are updating correctly.

Thanks Steve, I will check further on my new system. Not that I was missing any new posts just that I couldn't identify/remember which ones I had already read or not when there were a lot of new posts, like yesterday
Overall I am liking Windows 8, and not because my s-i-l works for Microsoft

I was persuaded by someone who said that if you stick to the desktop and never venture into the 'dark side', that it was like Windows 7 but with a few more facilities and bug fixes. So I went for it, and installed 'Classic Shell'. It's OK (Windows 8), but I've had a few problems. For example, I've had to disable 'fast restart' or whatever it's called, as otherwise my PC wouldn't shut down properly.

S-i-l is supposed to send that or something like it but haven't got it yet. Very much like Windows 7 and a bit of a struggle to find/open programs like Notepad++, Filezilla, etc. on the fly but will get used to it. Initially Cumulus found the 32701 error and Windows 8 led me to the new driver to download and install and then all good. Couldn't install my Weatherlink v.5.8.0 so had to wait until this morning to call Davis, very quick fix by them too sending me a full v.6.0.2 and I just stopped Cumulus started WL and all went fine except had to reset the units from F to C in the envoy but all data shows correct (lost a total of 3 hrs 10 min of data in WL since my previous WL run Dec 13 and the new start up today as the datalogger started to over-write - would have been ok if I didn't have to wait during the weekend to contact Davis.
In checking Cumulus restart after I shut down WL I noticed that one datalogger entry in the dec12log.txt seemed to be missing. I have set at 10 min interval and 15:40 is missing, then checked back a few days and found 4 other times that one entry was missing. Not a big thing as until about a year ago I had it at 30 min interval. The missing data seems around the times that Cumulus was shut down and reinstall now with most current beta, and again now the WL v.6.0.2 install. I will keep an eye on it for a while but will likely not be touching Cumulus for another 15 days for the next WL data download.
Hope you're having a good New Year's Eve,
Paul

There's a bug in the Davis DLL; it never sends the latest entry from the logger when Cumulus asks for the 'old' data when it starts up.

Thanks Steve
And now I recall having read about that problem before...
