I've reached the end of my patience with Davis. Here's their latest "communication"
If the update is available, it will be on our support site. Please check it periodically.

Probably time for everyone to start contacting Davis directly and push hard for a solution.

I finally upgraded to 1.9.3 yesterday and today I am got an entire error log screen full of data input appears to have stopped. With 1.9.2 it would sometimes go for a day without an error.

What kind of noise do we need to make to get Davis to fix this error?

I also run 1.9.3 and I get an error just about every 30 minutes and it stops reading for about 3-5 minutes. Quite frustrating.

Is there anyway to downgrade to 1.9.2 again and will I lose weather data if it's possible to downgrade? I made a copy of my 1.9.2 folder before I upgraded.

Why do you think this is a problem with 1.9.3? Unless I'm missing something, the problem being discussed here is a problem in the Davis v3 firmware, for which they have produced a fix. Those people who have the fixed firmware from Davis are running 1.9.3 without any problems, as far as I'm aware. This problem wasn't a result of any changes I've made to Cumulus.

It's possible that for some reason 1.9.3 is reporting the error more frequently than 1.9.2, but the problem is still there in the firmware. The only difference between 1.9.2 and 1.9.3 that I'm aware of, that is relevant, is that 1.9.3 attempts to adjust its reading interval when it detects v3 firmware, as described earlier in the thread. Because of a change in v3 of the firmware, 1.9.2 by default reads the data far too frequently, which causes a number of problems with calculated data in Cumulus.

I didn't know there was a fix for the firmware from Davis. I check the forums almost every day but must have missed the fix.

Look back a few posts in this thread about firmware version 3.12.

Yes I remember that post but it indicated that 3.12 was not an official release (yet). And when other members of the forum contacted Davis regarding a public release, it appeared they didn't get a response.

One of the post also referred to the Envoy but I assume the Envoy and VP2 console use the same firmware?

Yeah, 1.9.3 has the error much more frequently. As for a fix, am I missing something? I thought we were still waiting on Davis to make a public release..

Have you contacted Davis? Demand that they publish the firmware. THAT'S the real solution.

If the error messages bother you, Steve posted a way to suppress them - look back through this thread.

They don't necessarily bother me, I just like all my stuff to run error-free as much as possible! :) As for Davis, I'll see if I can get a response out of them about any new news about the firmware.

Went ahead and did the 3.12 update, but Cumulus isn't reading my wind speed. Anyone else have the problem?

EDIT: It just took it about 5 minutes to start reading it. All is working now!

Just to confirm - you're not getting 'data stopped' now, presumably?

It's been running all night with no errors to speak of.
