VP2 clock seems to be ~4h earlier than PC clock?
Yes, so that's the problem - there is no data available as far as the station is concerned because it thinks the time is four hours ago.

If you set 'Synchronise station clock' on the station settings screen, Cumulus will keep the station clock correct.

Thanks Steve,

A simple solution indeed. Probably the clock went wrong already in the spring when there was long power outage at the wx station and
Envoy was running out of batteries also...

Now I remember that originally I have set the clock with Davis Weatherlink software, and not used that software anymore.

Just to confirm that synchronizing the clock solved the problem! Just tested to turn off Cumulus for few minutes and now "archive records read:3" ! Many thanks!

Should I also select "restart if data stops" or/and "restart if unplugged" to maintain seamless records from the logger?

Now, when my PC or Weather Envoy loses internet connection, Cumulus is not trying to catch up those lost records, right?

"Restart if unplugged" has no effect with Davis stations.

You could set "Restart if data stops" if you want. As it says in the help, it may not fix the connection problem, but at least it stops Cumulus logging, so once you have fixed the problem it will download the missing data when you start it up again.

Back in old problem again. Though I have set up now another weather station on an island with solar power and 3G connection.

Davis vantage 2 pro with weather envoy and weatherlinkip datalogger just like in my other station. The connection is working surprisingly very well, Cumulus reports
just two or three outages / day and that is very good for a 3G connection..

However I haven't managed to get this station to download archived records yet. Don't know what is wrong. I have checked station clock, recording interval is the same (10min) and
according to Cumulus log it seems to be finding archived records but not downloading them.

There is no sign of it looking for logger entries at all. It looks like you have unset 'use data logger', but I can't confirm that myself from the partial diags log.

"Use data logger" is checked and I have many times compared settings to my other station, they should be the same..

It is looking for logger data, but it hasn't needed to download any logger data, as you have only stopped it for a few minutes at any time. Note that the Davis-supplied DLL never downloads the latest logger entry, so if there was just a single entry available, it would not get downloaded.

Thanks Steve,

17th june I had option "restart if data stops" checked. There was 1-2min outage in 3G mobile connection and Cumulus restarted as it should do. Outage was longer than restart-time and
connection was not alive when Cumulus was up so it stopped there.

In cumulus.008 it has stopped 16:03 and I have restarted 21:25, but no archive loaded.

This morning I have empty battery there again and have to wait for solar charge so soon I see if the archive is load ...

For this sort remote stations a functionality to catch-up archive in logger after connection losses automatically would be very nice. Now user needs to be present
to restart Cumulus to fill the gap after connection has restored. Maybe a retry-option in station initialisation, 10 minutes or so. Should work with "restart if data stops", Cumulus restarts and tries to connect station -> connection is still lost -> wait for 10mins -> retry -> connection ok -> initialisation and load archives as usual -> no gaps.

It was still running between those times:

17.6.2015 16:03:01.169 : VP2: CloseCommPort_V, res = 0
17.6.2015 16:03:01.169 : VP2: Open connection, type = 2
17.6.2015 16:03:03.171 : VP2: OpenTCPIPPort_V, res = -32701
17.6.2015 20:21:38.604 : Windows TIMECHANGE message received
17.6.2015 21:25:02.538 : Drawing initial graphs from data logs
17.6.2015 21:25:02.545 : Finished drawing initial graphs from data logs
17.6.2015 21:25:09.887 : begin updating station settings

Which is why there were no logger entries to download. It looks like you used the station settings screen at 21:25, which caused it to think that you were setting it up for the first time so it connected to the station, but it doesn't download logger entries (by design) the first time it runs.

Thanks Steve,

You are right, probably I made the reconnection by visiting just station settings window, not restarting Cumulus. The program itself was indeed running between 16:03 and
21:25 but data logging was stopped because of connection loss.

.. waiting the battery to be full to see if it gets archive today...

All right, battery full of sun again and wx station up. Started Cumulus and archived records were loaded ok!

Only thing was that console battery was out 8:40 and no archiving after that, but anyway it worked.

Johannes

PS makes me wonder if I can use rechargeable batteries in Weather Envoy and they could be charged in Envoy when there is power?
