how to get into text editor

Hi all i probably should no this but how do I get in the cumulus text editor to change things
on my site like background image or add a banner to my post is it easy to do for someone
like me that has not got a clue. I also can not find the Cumulus toolbox will I be needing that.

The background image is in a file called picture.jpg in the images folder on your server. Choose your jpg picture, copy it and rename it picture.jpg and upload it using Filezilla in place of picture .jpg in that folder.

It is PHP based so you have to make sure your server allows you to run PHP.
