Editing November High Hourly Rainfall Figure

Hi there,

I am trying to change the high hourly rainfall figure for November which currently stands at 198.6 mm after a error with my station last year (November 2011). Now, I can't copy it over from my console and I can't copy it from my dayfile data...

So, how do I change it to the right figure? Do I have to look through the dayfile.txt file to find the next lowest high hourly rainfall?

Thanks

Will

Edit the incorrect figure out of dayfile.txt and then use the monthly record editor to fetch the correct value.

Hi Steve,

You know what! I was nearly there, I had already done to dayfile.txt part! I only had to press "Copy" in the dayfile part of the monthly records editor! :bash:

That worked! :D

Thanks very much,

Will

Hi Steve,

New problem!

I found another high hourly rainfall error of 81.2 mm recorded on 10/05/2013...

Now, I can't remember what the high hourly rainfall was on that day and editing the all time records won't copy the correct high hourly rainfall for that day.

Do you really mean the rate, or the hourly figure?

Sorry, I accidentally put '/hr' on the end of the hourly figure. So, yes. The hourly figure.

Tricky. There's no code in Cumulus that can retrospectively calculate hourly rain, because it's hard to do properly. You'll have to replace that figure in dayfile.txt with something closer to the truth (how did it come to be wrong in the first place?). You can look at the data in the May log file and get an estimate of the true high hourly figure; it may be easier to do that by viewing the rain total figure in select-a-graph.

Hi Steve,

It became wrong when I disconnected or connected my Davis Vantage Vue Console by mistake when Cumulus was running or something similar...

Ok, I've used select-a-graph and found that the high rainfall rate that day and I worked out it was 1.4 mm. I will now go and correct the high hourly rainfall in dayfile.txt.

Thanks for your help,

William

EDIT: Fixed! :D
