error button flashes and chimes
I started getting this phenomenon this morning. The errror button flashes but when I click on it, I just get a chime. No error page appears. Cumulus will not close except via ctrl-shift-exc.
This seems to be different from the usb lockup problem others have mentioned (I think). My easy weather station is 5 weeks old. Any suggestions?

I should also mention that I reinstalled Cumulus, tried restarting my computer, etc but nothing helps.

Hi Steve,
I forgot to mention that when the error button is flashins (all the time now), I find thatt clicking anywhere on the Cumulus page produces the same result.
Here's a copy of the diags folder.

Re: error button flashes and chimes
It sounds like you might have an error window open behind cumulus?

Not according to the ctrl-shift-esc window.
However, I notice that after the downloading data window in the middle of the cumulus window disappeared, in the extreme lower left corner of the cumulus window, it says "downloading data".

Re: error button flashes and chimes
It looks like the USB lockup problem; the station isn't responding.
16/12/2012 11:58:02.196 : 11:58:02 EWUSB: Get history data
16/12/2012 11:58:02.201 : Request EW data block, addr = 000000
16/12/2012 11:58:12.192 : 11:58:12 Station not responding
If it is the usual problem, that's disappointing as you're running the build with the work around in. Unfortunately you've restarted Cumulus more than 10 times since the problem first occurred, so I can't see what happened at the time.
Do you have the 'Synchronise Fine Offset reads' option selected? And if so, can you see in today.ini that it has synchronised? You should have some entries like this:
[FineOffset]
FOSensorClockTime=41256.7828735301
FOStationClockTime=41256.7843026736
Edit: actually, I've realised that I can tell from the diags log that you don't have the option selected.

Re: error button flashes and chimes
Steve,
You are correct that I have restarted Cumulus often this morning.
I just remebered that I was looking at one of the graphs and left my computer for a while. When I returned, the graph had changed its appearance to something very bizarre. I think this is when I had started having difficulties with everything.
Re what you discovered, where should I go from here?

Re: error button flashes and chimes
I just tried running "Easyweather" and it reported that it cannot communicate with the device. My console appears fine but maybe there is a problem with it.

Re: error button flashes and chimes
You'll need to reset the station to get it talking again (remove batteries and USB cable). You then need to consider turning on the 'Synchronise Fine Offset reads" option to hopefully prevent the problem occurring again.

This is usually the case with the USB lockup problem. The console works, but will not communicate with the PC.daqddyo1 wrote:I just tried running "Easyweather" and it reported that it cannot communicate with the device.
