I have been attempting to start Cumulus after I have shut down my computer. I am getting the following message: An error occured in Cumulus. Please report the problem with the "bug report". Please advise what I should do to resolve the problem.
Thanks, Steve

Cumulus is trying to log an error message to tell you that it can't talk to the station, but is crashing in doing so. Try resetting the station (remove batteries and USB cable).

I have done this along with replaing the batteries in the receiver as well as the sending unit and I am still getting the same error message. Data is being downloaded just not being processed. This is only happening with the Cumulus program. The Weather Exchange program is working with no problems.
What should the next step be?

I'm confused by that, because it appears that you haven't run Cumulus before? The station type is undefined. Is this a new installation?
12/30/2012 21:50:30.661 : Station type undefined!
12/30/2012 21:50:30.753 : Today.ini does not exist
12/30/2012 21:50:30.759 : No all time records file found
What happens when you start Cumulus - you should get the station settings screen allowing you to enter your station type and other details - does that happen? Could you please describe exactly what you are doing, and what happens?

OK, I have been running Cumulus for about a year. I tried to update the program and I uninstalled the older version and installed a new version. I am having the same problem. I have attached a screen shot of what happens when I try to start up Cumulus.
I cannot get passed the "An error has occured" screen. This is what I would see on both the old version and the new version. Not suer what is happening. I have attached the most recent bug report also.
Sorry for all of the problems. I really appreciate all of your help!
Thanks, Steve

It's crashing in the third-party code which handles the drawing of various parts of the display. Your screen shot looks slightly strange, I suspect this is because you don't have the default font size selected? And it looks like italics?
You could try installing 1.9.3 (see this thread -
https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=7341) which uses a later version of the third party component. It's possible that they've fixed the bug.

Hi Steve,
I downloaded the version you said to. When I teird to start the program I got the same pop-up telling me the " An error has occured in Cumulus". Since this is a new version I have attached the bug log.
Not sure what to do from here.
Thanks, Steve

Yes, it's the same error in the third party component. I don't know why it's crashing, sorry; presumably something has changed on your computer just before this started happening?
Someone else had the same problem some time ago:
https://cumulus.hosiene.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=7048
They were also using an HP computer. I suspect it's something to do with the graphics settings; as I said, your fonts look strange.

I agree with the Steve, the first thing to try is resetting the screen display back to defaults and see if that fixes it. I know from writing Windows programs in the past handling non-standard display settings can be a nightmare. So, set...
text size = 100% and the default "Windows 7" desktop theme.

HI,
Sorry fr the delay. I have been working out of town.
The monitor and computer have been running at their default settings for as long as I have had them (2 years),
This problem just started occuring a few months ago,
Prior to this time the Cumulus program was running with no problems at all,
No changes have been made to my computer other than the routine Windows updates and the daily (or seems to be daily) Adobe updates.
All drivers are up to date.
I completely uninstalled and re installed the Cumulus program and I get the same error message.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks, Steve

The screen shot you post displays a setting that is in no way default. In about the same way the words "in no way" differ from the rest of the text of this post.
I would suggest you follow mcrossley's advice. I've been programing for Windows since dust was invented, and I can confirm that he's right.

Hi, I know this has been awhile but a solution to the problem was found through another program.
I got Turbo Tax, like I have every year, and tried to install it. I got a message that the program could not be installed. I clicked on a link for a solution from Intuit. I was told to go in to the C Drive, under Windows, go to the Fonts folder, Right click on it and look under properties for the oldest version. When I found it I was told to copy it and save it on my desktop.
From the folder on the desktop I was told to copy all of the Arial and Veranda fonts and paste them into the Windows fonts folder.
After doing this Turbo Tax installed with no problems!
It seems that a Windows update had deleted these fonts and that was what was keeping Turbo Tax from working.
I tried to start Cumlus after I reinstalled these fonts and the program opened with no problems!! YEA!!
Now Cumulus is telling me that the Weather Station is not transmitting. I have replaced the batteries.
How can I tell while I am at the station that it is transmitting? It is attached to the roof of my house and is nmot that easy to get to.
Thank you for all of your help with this.
Steve

If you replaced the transmitter batteries, did you restart the console? Remove console batteries and USB cable? Then allow the console to find the transmitter.
