NOAA report configuration - normal values

Post by HansR »

In the configuration of the NOAA reporting there are the normal values for temp and rain.
I filled these in with values I found.

My question is now : are they being adjusted over time with my own values.
In other words : are the normal values the running average of my own values over a period of time (eg 20/30 years).

If so, do I see those values represented in the configuration scheme and what would be the period.
Of not, wouldn't that be a nice idea?

They're not adjusted, no. Perhaps one day I might add that as a feature.

For the 'means' to be meaningful, they will require many years of data though won't they. Mine are based on 50 year means iirc.

OK.

Normal period would be 30 years. But even if you have not, the running average of your own values with the average of the meteo officials (Meteo France in my case) as a starting value would be a pretty good approximation I assume.
