WH1080 won't connect to replacement screen

Hi newbie, first post. I have had a WH1080 working for about 18 Months but the receiver has stopped storing any history so when I boot my PC I get no readings since it was last connected. I have bought two replacement receivers but neither will connect to my transmitter. When I reset the my original receiver it displays A00 in the date field. When I reset either of the two replacement receivers they both display 280 and then go to normal display without connecting to the transmitter. Any suggestions welcome.
Thanks

Hi,
From whom did you obtain the original and replacement units?
In addition to the apparent differences in the wireless protocol between some Maplin kits (which are actually 1081s), Fine Offset use three different radio frequencies (434, 868 & 915 MHz) in various markets, and there appear to be differences between the WH-x080 (Radio Controlled Clock), x081 (non-RCC), 308x (Solar) and 108x (non-Solar) transmitters.
Unfortunately, many FO transmitters and Consoles are not actually labelled with these different possible parameters, so it can be difficult to "pair" replacements correctly.
Cheers, Alan.

Hi Allan
I bought both from different sellers on Ebay. Both are "Maplin Gadget" receivers as is my original. The only difference I can see are the numbers displayed when I insert the batteries. 280 on my replacements and A00 on my original
Thanks
George

Hi George,
I've never noticed the "boot" version number on my Maplin station, but it appears that the manufacturers changed the communications protocol (data format) of Maplin stations about a year ago. I've discussed it various times on the forum, see
these search results for example.
Perhaps difficult with an ebay seller, but I'd try to get a refund on the Consoles and buy a complete kit from Clas Ohlson, currently £40 from one of their (few) shops, or from their (UK) website with some added shipping cost. AFAIK the wired sensors are all interchangeable, but NOT the wireless link (CO is 868MHz, Maplin 434MHz).
Cheers, Alan.
