Cumulus 1.9.3 (1054) new displays -> Webtags..??

Post by avoorpool »

Hi Steve,

The addition of the <#yesterday> webtag in build 1054 is nice.
Also, I like the addition of the displays in the Main Cumulus screen for 'Dry Days', Rain Days' 'Total Wind Run', 'Wind Average'.....
Just for adding some 'statistics' to the web site (montly/yearly) are there webtags available (or in the making :D ) for this specific information??

Thanks,

Arthur

No, because they're all created 'on demand' so not suitable for web tags. But one day, possibly, when I feel like writing all of the extra code that it would require...

The NOAA reports go some way to providing this but do not include any windrun info. There are a number of alternative PHP scripts (e.g. http://weather.wildwoodnaturist.com) for 'slicing and dicing' the NOAA reports which could give most of what you are looking for.

Actually, if you are prepared to parse out the data you will get better mileage from the dayfile as it has the windrun per day.

Hi Brian,

Thanks for the reply / suggestions.

I checked with the site (http://weather.wildwoodnaturist.com) and very helpful scripts are available.
After downloading them, I figured out the problem is that those are related to the Saratoga templates (in combination with Cumulus) but I don't use the WX template. (Weather Blues is what I use)
As you know I've gone through a similar 'de-templating' scenario with the Saratoga Astronomy script, however this was successful thanks to your help (and Ken True).
Those NOAA-Graph scripts / displays are exactly what I'm looking for (annual graphs/bars for Temp, Rain, Wind) but it's way over my head as a 'rookie' to even start any attempt changing the scripts and making them suitable for my Weather Blues Template.

Please let me know if you have any other suggestions....

Thanks,

Arthur

Yes, I did mention that they were PHP scripts (Saratoga implied but not made clear :? ). PHP is supported on your hoster as the Astronomy script you now use still has some php in it.

The scripts do look somewhat forbidding I agree.
I have tweaked them somewhat but do not yet have them on my site. The changes I have made are for presentation, not for conversion from php and as I only run a Saratoga/PHP setup I am not sure I could help.

Sorry if I got your hopes up unnecessarily.
