Upload data to AWEKAS

As AWEKAS takes the awekas_wl.htm file from a user's website is there a way for a user without a website to have their data on AWEKAS?

I am uploading to my website and AWEKAS then accesses it, but another user who does not yet have a website would like to as well.Using Cumulus and webtags it is possible to automatically produce the file and upload it to your webserver for AWEKAS to access.
Paul, I understand that... but I thought there was a way of sending the data directly to the AWEKAS site - my main weather software (which has been running longer than Cumulus) has been uploading the required data file directly onto the AWEKAS site.PaulMy wrote:I am uploading to my website and AWEKAS then accesses it, but another user who does not yet have a website would like to as well.
Yes, if you fill in the details but don't supply a host name, it will just create the files locallyPaulMy wrote:Will Cumulus proccess the awekas_wl.htm file without all the fields filled in the Configuration Internet Web Site settings?
And if so is there a way for that processed file to be send/uploaded to someone else's website?
Thanks again Steve, and presume the awekas_wl.htm will then also be created locally in the web folder. Without a host being entered will/can Cumulus then still ftp it to the site specified in the Files Remote filenames tab?Yes, if you fill in the details but don't supply a host name, it will just create the files locally
If the above is no, any suggestion where I might search for info/sample of batch file with an ftp command? I have not found any additional info in the forum search, Wiki or Help on this. You could run a batch file with an ftp command in it, using the 'external command' facility. But why not just get Cumulus to do it?
It will be created wherever you tell it to be created. It's not a 'standard' file, you have to add it as an 'extra' file.PaulMy wrote:and presume the awekas_wl.htm will then also be created locally in the web folder.
No. But I don't understand why you can't just configure a host etc in Cumulus, and get it to upload it. I think we must not be understanding each other.Without a host being entered will/can Cumulus then still ftp it to the site specified in the Files Remote filenames tab?
It seems to me that the easiest solution is to arrange a free web account, then you don't need to compromise your own details.PaulMy wrote:I probably didn't express myself very clearly that I was trying to find a way without giving full access to my web account.
I'm feeling much better, thanks. I just have to keep taking the tablets for now, and have occasional checks at the hospital. And Steve, hoping your health is improving and that you can fully enjoy the Christmas and holiday season.
