Re: My Davis vp2 pics
Glad you're up and running Geoff.
When uploading photos it does help to reduce their size to make them easier to view. 800*600 should be fine.
You should have some rain to record now but I never bothered calibrating my gauge. Wonder if any other VP2 owners did?

I seem to remember calibrating mine, but I can't remember what prompted me to do it. I slowly poured a measured amount of water in. I think I had to turn the screws quite a few turns to get it correct.RayProudfoot wrote:I never bothered calibrating my gauge. Wonder if any other VP2 owners did?

Re: My Davis vp2
Steve,
Interesting that you did calibrate. When the NOAA option became available I searched for a local Met Office station to enter monthly rainfall averages. Those numbers and my readings seem fairly close. Mark down the road in Wilmslow also had rainfall readings pretty close to mine albeit with a different station.
Geoff,
Now that your station is live calibrating could be tricky as you will be adding false rainfall readings to Cumulus. Might be worth asking how to calibrate without messing up your rainfall records. You don't want to end up recording a deluge and then trying to remove it from the various files.

Re: My Davis vp2
Yes I have just been looking at that So I just looked at my other weather station an the number were not that different my old station rain bucket is about 3" of the floor.
So after looking at that not sure what to think now I no I can clear all the data of the logger
but don't want to go down that route.
The other thing Ray was you mentioned about my version of cumulus, If I downloaded the latest version would I need to put all my settings in again.

Re: My Davis vp2
You never need to enter your settings again when installing a new version of Cumulus, so long as you install the new version to the same place as the old version, which the installer will offer by default. Note that 1.9.3 is the beta version, although no-one is reporting any serious issues with it. You are already running the latest 'stable' version.darc wrote:If I downloaded the latest version would I need to put all my settings in again.
