Problems with website set up

I have spent a lot of time unsuccessfully trying to use Cumulus to create a web page but must be doing something wrong.

I have read the help files and wiki and as far as I can tell it should work. My file structure has a folder called "weather" and the two subfolders called "dbimages" and "images." In the "weather" folder, I have the three files (a) CumulusRealtime.swf, (b) weatherstyle.css, and (c) wz_jsgraphics.js. In the "dbimages" folder, I have all the .gif files. The "images" folder has the one file, picture.jpg.

All the data files, including the realtime.txt appear to be going over but I cannot get the picture.jpg to activate and the formatting is wrong.

Can someone please help.?

My site is :- http://webspace.mypostoffice.co.uk/~hal ... a/weather/

Your weatherstyle.css is not being picked up. That's why the background is white with no picture visible.

If you go to this link you can see mine is there. http://www.cheadlehulmeweather.co.uk/weatherstyle.css
But if I go to the equivalent on your site nothing is shown. http://webspace.mypostoffice.co.uk/~hal ... rstyle.css

Thanks for the help.
I reloaded weatherstyle.css and it worked and then stopped. I turned off Realtime.txt and it is OK ! but I cannot see my weatherstyle.css in the same way as seeing yours.

weatherstyle.css is definitely not in the root folder of weather. All the links on your htm pages work okay. The background picture is there. http://webspace.mypostoffice.co.uk/~hal ... icture.jpg

When you say you 'reloaded' weatherstyle.css do you mean you uploaded it to the weather folder using a program such as FileZilla? It can just be dragged 'n dropped into weather and it will stay there until you change it. It doesn't need to be uploaded like the htm files.

Looks OK now, except that it stopped updating at about 10:14 - did you stop Cumulus?

I uploaded a fresh copy of weatherstyle.css using FireFTP. I am puzzled why it looks to you that it is not in the root of weather.

Cumulus has been running throughout.

It's there now which would explain why your webpages now have the correct formatting and style. :)

A 60 minute refresh is quite infrequent. You might want to consider a shorter interval. Say 15 minutes?
