Dayfile Issue

Steve,

Using the nicely detailed instructions in the Wiki, I have set up a couple of batch files to take care of uploading the dayfile to 000webhost.com as a php file rather than a txt file since they don't support text files. The first batch file just copies dayfile.txt to dayfile.php in the same folder. This I have set up as a Windows service at 12:03am assuming the "daily" upload would take place at 12:05am as I have my interval set at 5 minutes. Then there is another batch file that uploads the php file to the FTP server. The second batch file is referenced in Internet Settings | External Programs | Daily

Everything works well except that the data is 24 hours old. My question is: At what time does the trigger occur for the file that's located in "Daily"???

And what would be the solution to have it upload the correct data? It's not really a big deal, the stats are only out by one day.

Regards

The 'daily' external program is executed as soon as the midnight rollover has completed, so I'd normally expect it to happen a few seconds after midnight. It's not related to the web upload in any way (it only appears on the internet settings screen because the web-upload interval related external programs were there already).

Why not just use the one batch file to do everything? You probably don't even need to copy the file, just tell the ftp program what to call it on the server.

Now why didn't I think of that

That's what separates those that "know what they're doing" and those that "think they know what they're doing". That, and the fact that it's been at least 25-30 years since I've even thought about batch files, let alone DOS

Thanks for your help, Steve.
