Cumulus Support

Best I can tell I have 1.9.2 build 1032. Windows 7 64 bit. Hopefully a temporary problem. I have been using two monitors. The Cumulus window was located on monitor 2. yesterday monitor 2 died and yet to be replaced. I shutdown and rebooted, switched to 1 monitor and everything that had been on the monitor 2 screen (all the gadgets and some timers} reverted to the single monitor (monitor 1) as they should. Everything, that is, except the Cumulus window. It still thinks it's on monitor two. I can start Cumulus up, it shows up in the task bar but there is nothing on the screen 1. I know it's working because current weather date is being uploaded to the web pages. If I right click the Cumulus Task Bar icon one of the choices is "close widow - So it thinks/knows the window is open-but it also thinks it's on Monitor 2 which is dead) It would be nice if there is an easy way to get it back to screen 1 (without reloading the program). Otherwise, I am hoping that when I get a replacement monitor hooked up the Cumulus window will just show up normally on Screen 2.

I'm afraid I don't know much about working with two monitors. Were you using 'save main window position' to get it to open on the second monitor? Try this: stop Cumulus and edit cumulus.ini. Look for the line

SavePosition=1

in the [Display] section. Change it to

SavePosition=0

and start Cumulus.

No all I did was slide the Cumulus window to monitor 2 to get it out of the way of routine computer efforts as I do with several of the Windows 7 gadgets. Installed the new second monitor today and sure enough there was the Cumulus window on Monitor 2 when Cumulus booted up. So while I didn't find a fix to the problem it isn't a problem anymore.

The same thing happens with a lot of other programmes. Just need to shift everything to monitor 1 before removing the 2nd monitor or borrow the neighbours if your 2nd monitor has died.
Same happens sometimes if you install a monitor with lower res....you can lose some programmes off the edge.
Quirk of windows? Probably.

If you 'lose' windows using a second monitor it is quite easy to get them back so long s they appear in task bar. Just right click the task bar icon and select 'move', then press one of the cursor keys on your keyboard, then move your mouse. The 'missing' window will now be 'attached' to you mouse pointer and you can bring it back into view.

Happens all the time with me as I run a second monitor on my laptop at home and frequently disconnect it when on customer sites etc.

Google found this:-
1. Hold down Alt + Spacebar
2. Press the M key
3. Use the arrow keys to relocate the window
4. Press the Enter key when you have the Window in the desired location.

I also noticed that you can use the mouse instead of the arrows.

Right click on the task bar Icon doesn't work for me....perhaps different in W7?

Can't you simply tell your display driver that only one monitor is in use ?

no...it does tend to leave the other window out in the ether

My bad Terry, it is right-shift-click the icon in the task bar, then both our methods are the same.

I also have some apps that pop up dialogs in the 'aether' because my second screen is much bigger than the primary and they seem to just take the total max height of the display area into account rather than each screens max height, so they appear above the primary screen area.
